My Year in GCT: Katie Khau

My 5 best pieces of GCT are:

My Year Reflection

This year I have learned many things mostly things involving a mac book. When we had to learn how to edit footage on imovie I couldn't help but find it difficult, but as we kept working only on imovie and learning about all the neat features it had to offer; i started getting more use to it. Another thing I've learned was photoshop; I never really used it before until this year, so it was a great experience for me. Overall GCT was a great experience and a fun course.

Katie Khau's playing with Imovie

Opps I realized I never posted this!

Katie's I have a dream: Martin Luther King Jr.

1. The message in Martin Luther King's speech was that everyone has freedom and that everyone is equal and that they should not judged by their skin but by personality. I think the slide which was the most important to me was "From every mountainside, let freedom ring" because it shows how they will finally get their freedom and show the world the difference it can make for the better.

2. The creative fonts that I presented were from the 5 tips of typography including the choice of font, spacing of the lines, different colors, contrast and sizing. Also making sure that the important words were very noticeable.

3. I will use the fonts creatively in the future for assignments involving powerpoints, or for just graphic work.

 4. The most difficult part was the audio because i tried over 3 times redoing the audio until it finally worked.

5. To convert a PPT to a WMV simply save it but instead of JPEG save it as WMV.

6. I wouldn't really change anything because it was quite fun creating the fonts and different styles, probably just do a shorter speech next time.

Katie's Photoshop Elements Assignment

Reflection: It was a pretty fun assignment but a little bit stressing since mostly because I had a late start and mostly how I could only work on this on school and how slow the computers were. So it may not be my best work but that doesn't mean I wasn't fascinated. It interested me how much photo shop could change the photo and the atmosphere of it.

I re-edited the photo " A Sunset Dream" since the first edit was made to blurry and too dark. I changed the colors but still made it Orton mode. I'm thinking of changing the title to "Sunset Painting".

Katie's A summary of My Vacation Photo Essay

It was hard choosing just 10 I did way more activities in my vacation but I wasn't aloud to take pictures in most shows and I don't think it's possible taking nice shots while up in the air or speed driving through the forests (It was fun btw, they put you in this type of car wear you can control the wheels as you drive along the forest), so enjoy!

Katie's Stop Motion Animation: A Day At The Mall

This is the stop motion me and Camilla created. We ended up not making any changes since of my holiday trip, but in my opinion I thought it was a pretty good video and needed no changes. I really liked how the video turned out, especially the lighting. The hardest part of editing this video was finding the music for it! It was difficult finding an up beat instrumental music that sounded good when connected with others and could be played for a mall theme, but in the end I had fun, but boy was I tired!

Katie's Stop Motion Animation: A Day at The Mall

This is mine and Camilla's first rough draft. This stop motion is just an average day at the mall, which I got the idea of making the title "A Day at The Mall". We did make some errors though with the smoothness of our stop motion. I do feel like we should recreate the intro and conclusion but other wise I think it turned out pretty good for a rough draft.

Katie Khau's First Stop Motion

This was my ever first attempt at stop motion. As I took a picture of it I would have to literally open the box of Smarties bit by bit. The most tricky part though was making it fall over by itself, but I still had fun! What I think I did good was trying to make my video go smoothly as I opened the box. What I also think I did good on was meeting the basic criteria of a stop motion animation. What I could improve on next time is working on my lighting and trying to make the video go more smoothly.
